Chef David Chung is a consummate artist who's focus in the realm of
sushi and Asian fusion cuisine has led to a life long career which has
taken him from his native home of Hong Kong to Japan and into Canada.
Having started at a young age, Chef David has accumulated a long and
impressive list of restaurants to add to his credentials.
In Canada alone, his skill and creativity has graced the kitchens and
sushi bars of notable restaurants in Vancouver, Calgary and now Toronto,
leading him to take on roles such as head and executive chef throughout
his career.
Furthering his repertoire beyond the restaurant industry, Chef David
branched out into the realm of education and adds “instructor” to his
resume as he teaches courses at the renown Geroge Brown college in
Toronto and spends time demonstrating and demystifying the world of
Asian cuisine at various LCBO locations, Loblaws Upstairs and many other
venues.
Today, as an owner of the re-imagined and reworked Akasaka Fusion dining
restaurant in Markham, Ontario, his efforts have led to glowing reviews
in Toronto Life and various other local publications only 2 months after
openning.
Ontop of continuing perennial favourites such as the Yummy Yam entree
consisting of bananas, yam, avocado and spicy mango sauce or the Ice
wine foie gras with a little touch of unagi, Chef David and Akasaka
continues expanding on corporate cooking classes, lunch and learn
programs and event catering. |
